The Big Dig
May 13th, 2009

So today is Wednesday I am playing golf today at Mentmore Golf Club which is in Buckinghamshire which is going to be great.  Playing with a couple of friends, hopefully I will take their money once again -fingers crossed, wish me luck.

One Big Weekend was brilliant – I’ve got some great videos from behind the scenes, read my full review here

On Monday Tess and I were privileged enough to start the ‘big dig’ or ‘breaking ground’ as it was known on a new building that is being built at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital.  It’s called the Morgan Stanley Clinical Building and it will house the cardio and neurological new departments at Great Ormond Street.

It is going to take three years to build but it will provide more services for sick kids across the world and yesterday Tess and I started off by ‘breaking ground’ which meant that we were the first people to start the build.  Lots of diggers and dump trucks were there and some children from the hospital. And it was just great to be a part of Disney, Morgan Stanley and the Mittal family have been major contributors to the early developments of this project, so many thanks to them for taking part and thanks to everyone who has got involved. It’s a great project so make sure you keep logging on to Officialvernonkay.com for regular updates on how that is going and maybe we will go down there in a few months’ time and have a look at the development and see how things are going so far – so big thanks to everyone at Great Ormond Street Hospital and I will keep you posted.  Both Tess and I are patrons of the project.

And it just so happens I met ‘Jerry’ the best digger driver in Great Britain…big title!…but apparently he is the most expensive because he is the best and he has given me some tips because at the moment I am clearing the brambles from my back garden so Jerry has given me some tips and there will be some footage up very very soon of me annihilating my back garden so keep on here for more info on THE DIGGER!!
