Played golf at Mentmore on Wednesday, which is in Buckinghamshire, just outside Aylesbury. Had a good start, did alright but then it kind of went downhill, not hitting my driver too well at the moment, it’s going right all the time. I’m not slicing it, instead it turns out that I am standing too far away from the ball so I have nudged myself up closer to the ball and I am absolutely killing it now.
Short game needs a little work, putting I’ve kind of… wouldn’t say I mastered but I am enjoying putting at the moment, I had a couple of putting lessons but overall it was just a little bit messy off the tee and on the greens.

Mentmore is a great course, beautiful greens, very scenic, great views of Buckinghamshire once you get on top of the 9th hole going down into the valley. Little bit of water on the first and on the 18th but apart from that it was good-a good test!
Have you played? What did you go round in? Let me know

Hi Vern
It might not be you. It might be your driver!
I play a lot of golf at The Grove near Watford (fantastic course) and there is a guy there called Jon (his company is Tour 59) that doesn’t do just custom fitting, he does custom BUILDING.
He works from their driving range. He will watch you hit some balls on their driving range facility and be able to see whats wrong. He doesnt rely on computer launch monitors, he actually uses his wealth of experience that he has gained working with Tour Professionals.
He then recommends what you need (usually just a different shaft), then goes and rebuilds your exisiting club while you wait. You can then try it and see it work! He will then adjust it again if he needs to.
I recommend him to every golfer I meet cos I have been so pleased with what he has done for me and my game. He has rebuilt all my irons, my driver, my woods sorted me out some new wedges (plenty of spin) and I will get him to look at my putter next!
His details; Jon (Tour 59) Tell him that Micky recommended you!
Happy golfing!
Micky
